HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate  the members of the Coal 
4City Middle School baseball team, the Warriors, on winning the 
5Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) Class 3A State 
6Championship; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The Warriors defeated Homewood to become the IESA 
8Class 3A State champions; the team outscored their opponents 
937-3 in 3 games, including 25-0 in the semifinal and title 
10games; the team ended their season with a spectacular 24-1 
11record; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, This victory marks the fifth State title in Coal 
13City Middle School's history and the third straight trophy for 
14the school, as the Warriors won the 3A title in 2013 and 
15finished in third in 2014; the team's 27 wins this season also 
16marked a new school record for the school; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, The Warriors are Cade Mueller, Jacob Formenti, 
18Jake Hutchings, Cam Lander, Josh Michalak, Colin Meece, Cody 
19Rogers, Tyson Spencer, Tyson Elliott, Jacob Shumaker, Payton 
20Hutchings, Joey Youskevtch, Austin Pullara, Jarod Garrelts, 
21Riley Ponio, Jack Bunton, Gavin Elrod, and Connor Best; the 
22team's coach is Jerry McDowell; and

1    WHEREAS, The Warriors serve as models of hard work, 
2integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of 
3Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6congratulate the members of the Coal City Middle School 
7baseball team, the Warriors, on winning the Illinois Elementary 
8School Association Class 3A State Championship and we wish them 
9many more successful years; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the Warriors as a symbol of our esteem and 
12respect.
