HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish
to congratulate Xavier Bishop for 
4breaking 2 Springfield City
Basketball Tournament records; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Xavier Bishop is a senior point guard for Lanphier 
6High School; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Xavier Bishop scored 50 points in an individual 
8game to break the
previous 50-year record of 39 points; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Xavier Bishop scored 102 points during the 
10tournament to break the
previous record of 98 points, which 
11stood for 49 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, As a student athlete, Xavier Bishop is a member of 
13the National
Honor Society and a mentor to elementary and 
14middle school basketball
players; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Xavier Bishop is known among Springfield-area 
16players and
coaches for his personality and motivation; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Xavier Bishop has a bright future ahead of him and 
18is being
recruited by several colleges and universities;

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3congratulate Xavier Bishop for breaking 2 Springfield City

4Tournament records and we wish him many more years of success; 
5and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

Xavier Bishop as a symbol of our esteem and
