HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate  E. Dean Browning of 
4Godfrey on the occasion of his 90th birthday on January 21, 
52016; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, E. Dean Browning was born on January 21, 1926 in 
7Annawan; he graduated from Annawan High School in 1944; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, While serving in the United States Army, E. Dean 
9Browning participated in the invasion on Luzon, the 
10Philippines, during a consecutive, 165-day campaign; he was 
11awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge and a Bronze Star for his 
12service; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, After the war, E. Dean Browning earned degrees 
14from Western Illinois University, the University of Illinois, 
15and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, E. Dean Browning was employed by the Alton 
17Community Unit School District for 37 years as a teacher, 
18director of adult education, and administrative assistant to 
19the superintendent for vocational and technical education; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, E. Dean Browning and his wife, Ardythe (nee

1Machesney), have a daughter, Lexa Linn Browning-Needham, a 
2teacher at Alton High School, and a son-in-law, James Needham; 
3therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6congratulate E. Dean Browning on the occasion of his 90th 
7birthday and wish him many happy and healthy years to come; and 
8be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to E. Dean Browning as a symbol of our esteem and 
11respect.
