HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Anne V. 
4Nether-Gass, who passed away on February 13, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Anne Nether-Gass was born on April 17, 1957 in 
6Sylvester, Georgia; her parents were Jasper and Irene Nether; 
7she married Arthur J. Gass, Sr. on November 29, 1975; they were 
8married for over 40 years and renewed their wedding vows on 
9August 22, 2015; they traveled 7,604 miles across the country 
10on their honeymoon; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Anne Nether-Gass was employed as a childcare 
12provider, as an Accounts Payable Clerk for Moore Business 
13Forms, and as a Program Administrative Assistant for the Black 
14Chamber of Commerce of Lake County; she later dedicated her 
15time  to the care of her grandchildren; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Anne Nether-Gass confessed Christ at an early age 
17and was baptized at Jones Chapel A.M.E. Church; she was very 
18active in her church and served in many ministries; she was a 
19Sunday school teacher, choir member, choir director, youth 
20ministry director, deaconess, minister's wife, and Pastor's 
21wife; and

1    WHEREAS, Anne Nether-Gass was the founder of the North 
2Shore Baptist Minister Wives and Widows Organization and along 
3with her husband cofounded the Black Chamber of Commerce of 
4Lake County, Family Housing Services of Lake County, and the 
5Small Business and Contractors Academy, where she served as the 
6Director of Growth and Development and as a member of the Board 
7of Directors; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Anne Nether-Gass was preceded in death by her 
9parents; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Anne Nether-Gass is survived by her husband, 
11Arthur, Sr.; her daughters, CaRita A. (Kedrick) Timms and 
12LuSundra P. (Darl, II) Everett; her son, Arthur J. Gass, Jr.; 
13her grandchildren, Jasper, Harrison, Donavyn, Darl, III, and 
14Jaylen; her siblings, Willie Carl (Juanita) Nether, Mary 
15Frances (Henry) McKinney, Johnny (Diane) Nether, and Ima Jean 
16(Chester) Walker; and her many nieces, nephews, godchildren, 
17and adopted children; therefore, be it
  
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
19NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
20we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of 
21Anne V. Nether-Gass; and be it further
  
 
22    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
