HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois General Assembly are 
3pleased to recognize the Village of Rosemont on the occasion of 
4its 60th anniversary on January 20, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, This milestone anniversary will be celebrated 
6throughout 2016 with a series of events and a 60th anniversary 
7marketing campaign utilizing a colorful illustration depicting 
8the liveliness of the Village of Rosemont; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Several unveilings are scheduled to take place in 
10conjunction with Rosemont's 60th anniversary, including the 
11official unveiling of the newly renovated waterfall on the 
12corner of River Road and Higgins Road, scheduled for May 8, 
132016; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, The Village of Rosemont has also commissioned 
15artists Omri Amrany and Julie Rotblatt Amrany at Timeless 
16Creations to create a bronze-cast statue of Rosemont's founding 
17Mayor Donald E. Stephens; it is scheduled to be unveiled on 
18June 19, 2016; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Rosemont has grown tremendously from its original 
20state as an unincorporated area in 1956 to the entertainment 
21destination it has become today; and

1    WHEREAS, On average, 75,000 to 100,000 visitors are 
2welcomed and served by the Village of Rosemont daily; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, Rosemont has a population of 4,202; more than 
460,000 additional employees commute to Rosemont daily to work 
5at all kinds of organizations, from small hometown shops to 
6multi-national corporate headquarters; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Rosemont has been an economic engine for the State 
8of Illinois for more than 5 decades; the village offers 
9superior services and low taxes to its citizens; therefore, be 
10it
  
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
12NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
13recognize the Village of Rosemont on its rich 60 years of 
14history and wish them success and prosperity in the future; and 
15be it further
  
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17presented to the Village of Rosemont as a symbol of our esteem 
18and respect.
