HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate River City Roasters of 
4Wheaton on winning the 2016 U.S. Chamber of  Commerce Dream Big 
5Blue Ribbon Small Business Award; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, This is the second consecutive year that River 
7City Roasters has won a U.S. Chamber of Commerce Dream Big Blue 
8Ribbon Small Business Award; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, partnered with Sam's 
10Club, picks the winners from applicants from across the 
11country; applicants are judged in four key categories: 
12strategic planning, employee development, customer service, 
13and community involvement; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, River City Roasters started in India in 2008; it 
15is  still driven by the passion to provide an experience that 
16highlights the entire process that goes into preparing a cup of 
17coffee, starting with the coffee cherry that is handpicked by 
18the farmer, down to the barista who hand brews the coffee by 
19the cup; and
  
 
  
20    WHEREAS, River City Roasters is in contention for the 2016 
21Community Excellence Award, which is part of the DREAM BIG

1Small Business of the Year awards program; the Community 
2Excellence Award recognizes a business that has found success 
3in the eyes of its community, generously giving of its time, 
4resources, and expertise; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
6NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
7congratulate River City Roasters on winning the 2016 U.S. 
8Chamber of  Commerce Dream Big Blue Ribbon Small Business Award; 
9and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to River City Roasters as an expression of our esteem 
12and respect.
