HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Tom Moehn on the occasion of his retirement after 46 years of service with Challenge Unlimited, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, Tom Moehn, Chief Executive Officer of Challenge Unlimited, Inc. and Residential Options, Inc., began working in July of 1969 with what was then known as Specialized Services, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, During Tom Moehn's time with Challenge Unlimited, he has been dedicated to the company's mission, providing opportunities for individuals with disabilities, assisting them to live, work, and participate in the community; he has made a difference for thousands of people over the years and he has been committed to offering people opportunities to become independent and successful; and

WHEREAS, Tom Moehn has been a visionary leader in the area of the social entrepreneurial business model, which stresses the importance of people with disabilities being integrated into the community and understanding that work which pays a living wage is an important facet of life; he led the effort in Madison County to provide safe and integrated residential housing for people with disabilities; and

WHEREAS, Tom Moehn is recognized as an industry leader throughout the country and his company has been recognized for its innovative and award-winning services for people with disabilities; and

WHEREAS, Tom Moehn's retirement became official on February 29, 2016; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Tom Moehn on his retirement after 46 years of service with Challenge Unlimited, Inc. and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Tom Moehn as an expression of our esteem and respect.
