HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate  the administrators and 
4employees of Oak-Leyden Developmental Services on the occasion 
5of the organization's 60th anniversary in 2016; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Oak-Leyden Developmental Services was founded in 
71956 by concerned families who joined to form the Oak Community 
8School in Oak Park; the organization was created to teach young 
9adults with developmental disabilities the skills they would 
10need to live as independently as possible within home and 
11community settings; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Over the years, the Oak Community School has grown 
13to include a wide range of vocational and residential services 
14for adults and therapy, education, and family support for 
15infants and young children with developmental disabilities; 
16and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Oak-Leyden Developmental Services has planned a 
18schedule of events throughout 2016, including open houses at 
19the organization's main non-residential locations and a 
20special event at the Hofbrauhaus event on November 4, 2016; and

  
 
21    WHEREAS, The administrators and employees of Oak-Leyden

1Developmental Services serve as models of hard work, integrity, 
2and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; 
3therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6congratulate the administrators and employees of Oak-Leyden 
7Developmental Services on the occasion of the organization's 
860th anniversary and wish them continued success and happiness 
9in the future; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to Oak-Leyden Developmental Services as a symbol of 
12our esteem and respect.
