| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Arthur O. Kane on the |
| 4 | | occasion of his 98th birthday; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Arthur Kane was born on January 17, 1918; he |
| 6 | | graduated from the University of Chicago in 1936 and from the |
| 7 | | University of Chicago Law School in 1939; he served in the |
| 8 | | United States Army during World War II; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Arthur Kane started his career by practicing law |
| 10 | | with his father, Henry Kane; he founded and built the top |
| 11 | | workers' compensation defense firm in the State of Illinois, |
| 12 | | Kane, Doy and Harrington, which was often referred to as the |
| 13 | | "1927 New York Yankees of Workers' Compensation Law"; he |
| 14 | | donated the Arthur O. Kane Center for Legal Education and |
| 15 | | Clinic to the University of Chicago Law School; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Arthur Kane and his wife, Esther, donated the |
| 17 | | "Esther & Arthur O. Kane Outpatient Clinic" at the Chicago |
| 18 | | Rehabilitation Institute; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Most recently, Arthur Kane established the Arthur |
| 20 | | O. Kane Chair in Constitutional Law at the University of |
| 21 | | Chicago Law School; therefore, be it
