| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Calvary United |
| 4 | | Pentecostal Church in Clinton on the occasion of its 50th |
| 5 | | anniversary; and

| 6 | | WHEREAS, Calvary United started in a storefront on East |
| 7 | | Main Street as a home missions extension of the United
|
| 8 | | Pentecostal Church in Bloomington; its first pastor was Rev. |
| 9 | | Jimmie Yohe; it became affiliated with the United
Pentecostal |
| 10 | | Church International in December of 1965; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, The present church property was purchased from the |
| 12 | | Clinton Assembly of God in the early 1970s; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Calvary United has had ten pastors, including the |
| 14 | | current pastor, Rev. Tom Gallion, who has been pastor for five
|
| 15 | | years; several young men have received their call to the |
| 16 | | ministry while attending Calvary; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Calvary United is involved in missions worldwide, |
| 18 | | giving thousands of dollars annually to this cause; its
motto |
| 19 | | is "The Whole Gospel to the Whole World by the Whole Church"; |
