HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Calvary United 
4Pentecostal Church in Clinton on the occasion of its 50th 
5anniversary; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Calvary United started in a storefront on East 
7Main Street as a home missions extension of the United

8Pentecostal Church in  Bloomington; its first pastor was Rev. 
9Jimmie Yohe; it became affiliated with the United
Pentecostal 
10Church International in December of 1965; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, The present church property was purchased from the 
12Clinton Assembly of God in the early 1970s; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Calvary United has had ten pastors, including the 
14current pastor, Rev. Tom Gallion, who has been pastor for five

15years; several young men have received their call to the 
16ministry while attending Calvary; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Calvary United is involved in missions worldwide, 
18giving thousands of dollars annually to this cause; its
motto 
19is "The Whole Gospel to the Whole World by the Whole Church"; 
20and

1    WHEREAS, Calvary United is celebrating its 50th 
2anniversary on April 16-17, 2016; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
5congratulate Calvary United Pentecostal Church on its 50th 
6anniversary and we wish them many more successful year; and be 
7it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to Calvary United as an expression of our esteem and 
10respect.
