HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Dorothy
4Roberts, formerly of Benton, who passed away on March 15, 2016;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Dorothy Roberts was born in Logan to Freeman Burns
7and Vienna (Childs) Burns on February 26, 1938; she married
8Floyd Wilson Roberts on April 9, 1954; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Dorothy Roberts worked as a housekeeper and a
10Certified Nursing Assistant; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Dorothy Roberts enjoyed reading, quilting,
12antiquing, and spending time with her grandchildren; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Dorothy Roberts was preceded in death by her
14husband, Floyd; her father, Freeman Burns; her mother, Vienna
15Cohoon; her sister, Margaret Shadwell; and her brother, Joseph
16Cohoon; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Dorothy Roberts is survived by her five children,
18Laura Karch and husband, Carl, Michael Roberts and fiancee,
19Jody Lilly, and Jody's daughter, Rachel Nichole Lilly, Rhonda
20Dickson and husband, John, Sandy King and husband, Mark, and

1Kenneth Roberts and fiancee, Julie Hayes; her 15 grandchildren,
2Michelle Lynn Karch, Timothy Shawn Karch, Charles Jason
3Roberts, Joshua Michael Roberts, Tyler Wilson Roberts, Kaleb
4James Roberts, Brock Arthur Roberts, Kaitlin Reyna Roberts,
5Brittany Adair Dickson, John Austin Dickson, Bailey Renee
6Dickson, Bradley David Schram, Kristen Faye Englebright, Brent
7Michael Schram, and Kayla Roberts; her 18 great-grandchildren;
8her sister, Nancy Lampley; her two brothers, Jeff Cohoon and
9Charles Burns; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
11NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
12mourn the passing of Dorothy Roberts, and extend our sincere
13condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
14her; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Dorothy Roberts as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
