| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Andrea Lynne Anderson on | ||||||
| 4 | the occasion of her retirement as Assistant Superintendent of | ||||||
| 5 | Oak Lawn Hometown School District 123; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Andrea Anderson has over 35 years in education; | ||||||
| 7 | from 1979 to 1981, she was the physical education and social | ||||||
| 8 | studies teacher at Lutheran High School in Ft. Lauderdale, | ||||||
| 9 | Florida; from 1983 to 1984, she was the physical education | ||||||
| 10 | teacher at Our Saviour Lutheran in Bronx, New York; from 1984 | ||||||
| 11 | to 1989, she was the principal at Lutheran High School in Ft. | ||||||
| 12 | Lauderdale, Florida; from 1990 to 1999, she was the principal | ||||||
| 13 | at Ashburn Lutheran School in Chicago; from 1999 to 2003, she | ||||||
| 14 | was the Assistant Principal of Oak Lawn Hometown Middle School; | ||||||
| 15 | from 2003 to 2010, she was the principal of Oak Lawn Hometown | ||||||
| 16 | High School; and from 2010 to the present, she was Assistant | ||||||
| 17 | Superintendent of Oak Lawn Hometown School District 123; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Some of Andrea Anderson's accomplishments include | ||||||
| 19 | being the sole administrator at smaller parochial schools for | ||||||
| 20 | 18 years prior to coming to District 123; participating in | ||||||
| 21 | athletics, fundraising, student trips, transportation, and | ||||||
| 22 | serving as the occasional bus driver; teaching a graduate level | ||||||
| 23 | course in education at Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago; | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | leading in-service workshops for other educators on the topics | ||||||
| 2 | of: classroom management and student discipline, stress | ||||||
| 3 | management, and teacher evaluation techniques; and leading | ||||||
| 4 | adult study/discussion groups on various issues related to | ||||||
| 5 | parenting; she was granted Illinois Administrators' Academy in | ||||||
| 6 | 1999; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Andrea Anderson served on the Long Range Plan | ||||||
| 8 | Committee in 1999 for School District 123; she changed the | ||||||
| 9 | focus of the District's educational programming for the upper | ||||||
| 10 | grade students; she volunteers at all of District 123 events | ||||||
| 11 | such as, The Back to School Event, Fun Fair, Parent University, | ||||||
| 12 | and all Make-A-Wish fundraiser events held at the schools; and | ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Andrea Anderson graduated from Lutheran West High | ||||||
| 14 | School in 1975; she received her Bachelor of Arts from | ||||||
| 15 | Concordia College in River Forest in 1979 and Master of Arts in | ||||||
| 16 | School Administration from Florida Atlantic University in Boca | ||||||
| 17 | Raton, Florida; she received her Type 75 Administrative | ||||||
| 18 | Certification in 1999; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Andrea Anderson is planning on retiring in | ||||||
| 20 | Florida, where her adventure in education started, to be close | ||||||
| 21 | to her family; and
| ||||||
| 22 | WHEREAS, Andrea Anderson will be missed tremendously by | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | everyone in the District and her close friends; therefore, be | ||||||
| 2 | it
| ||||||
| 3 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 4 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 5 | congratulate Andrea Lynne Anderson on her retirement as | ||||||
| 6 | Assistant Superintendent of Oak Lawn Hometown School District | ||||||
| 7 | 123 and we wish her the best in all her future endeavors; and | ||||||
| 8 | be it further

| 9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 10 | presented to Andrea Anderson as an expression of our esteem and | ||||||
| 11 | respect.
