| 2 | | BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 3 | | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 4 | | urge public and charter schools to post, in English and |
| 5 | | Spanish, the following information using a format and language |
| 6 | | that is clear, simple, and understandable to students: |
| 7 | | (1) the current toll-free telephone number of the |
| 8 | | Department of Children and Family Services' child abuse |
| 9 | | hotline; |
| 10 | | (2) instructions to call 9-1-1 for emergencies; and |
| 11 | | (3) instructions for accessing the Department of |
| 12 | | Children and Family Services' website for more information |
| 13 | | on reporting abuse, neglect, and exploitation; and be it |
| 14 | | further
|
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That we urge this information be posted at each |
| 16 | | school campus in at least one high-traffic, highly and clearly |
| 17 | | visible public area that is readily accessible to and widely |
| 18 | | used by students; and be it further
|
| 19 | | RESOLVED, That we urge schools to print posters with this |
| 20 | | information themselves or to obtain posters from the Department |
| 21 | | of Children and Family Services or any other child protection |
| 22 | | agency; and be it further
