HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to
congratulate the members of the Althoff 
4Catholic Crusaders basketball team on winning the 2016 Illinois 
5High School Association  Class 3A State Championship; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, This is the first State basketball title for the 
7City of Belleville after
more than 7,800 games over 99 seasons; 
8it was secured after the Crusaders came back from an early 
9deficit to defeat Lincoln-Way West 62-39 in the championship 
10game in Peoria; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, This was the Crusaders 32nd victory of the season; 
12and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, The Crusaders are Keenen Young, Ishaiah Williams, 
14Tarkus Ferguson, Edwyn Brown, Dante
Ray, Marvin Bateman, 
15Brendon Gooch, Jordan Goodwin, CJ Coldon,
Di'Mond Salmond, 
16Scott Semke, Ryder Goodwin, Bryson Strong, Malik
Easley, Jake 
17Frazier, and Devyn Nash; the managers and coaches
are Dong Ho 
18Lee, Nick Siegel, Harry Greene, Nate Brutto, and Greg Leib; and
  
 
  
19    WHEREAS, The Crusaders serve as
models of hard work, 
20integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3congratulate the members of the Althoff Catholic Crusaders 
4basketball team on winning the 2016 IHSA Class 3A State 
5Championship, and we wish them continued success and happiness 
6in the future; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the
Althoff Catholic Crusaders basketball team as 
9a symbol of our esteem and
respect.
