HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize, acknowledge, and 
4congratulate Mayor Arlene Jezierny of the Village of Harwood 
5Heights for her many years as a dedicated civil servant who has 
6devoted herself to serving her community and for her many 
7charitable and community-based endeavors; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Mayor Jezierny serves as a role model to everyone 
9who has had the great fortune of meeting her; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Since first moving to Harwood Heights with her 
11family in 1960, Mayor Jezierny has been on an unending crusade 
12to better both herself and her community; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Mayor Jezierny graduated from Madonna High School 
14and attended classes at both Triton and Wright Colleges while 
15pursuing her degree; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Before getting fully involved in local politics, 
17Mayor Jezierny had a successful 37 year career with a top 
18international insurance corporation, attaining the title of 
19Assistant Vice President/Director of Marketing and Sales 
20Promotion with the corporation; and

1    WHEREAS, Mayor Jezierny stays active in her community, 
2giving her time and resources to Easter Seals, the American 
3Cancer Society, juvenile diabetes charities, the Rotary Club, 
4the Resurrection Auxiliary, the Harwood Heights-Norridge 
5Chamber of Commerce, the Red Hat Society, and the Polish 
6Museum; she also mentors Ridgewood High School students; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Mayor Jezierny serves as an inspiration to all in 
8her endless mission to better herself, from working full-time 
9while getting her education to how she remains active in 
10countless charities and community-based organizations; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, We wish Mayor Jezierny the best of luck with her 
12continued dedication to serving her community and all who dwell 
13within it and hope that she may have many more years of 
14dedicated service; therefore, be it
  
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
16NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
17honor and thank Mayor Arlene Jezierny for her years of 
18dedicated and skilled service; and be it further
  
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
20presented to Mayor Jezierny as an expression of our 
21appreciation for a job well done.
