| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Marjorie |
| 4 | | Ann Klise of Peoria, who passed away on April 24, 2016; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Marjorie Klise was born in Peoria to Dallas Monroe |
| 6 | | and Margaret (Feeney) Costello on December 24, 1931; she |
| 7 | | attended St. Mark School and graduated from the Academy of Our |
| 8 | | Lady in 1949; she graduated from Clarke College in Dubuque, |
| 9 | | Iowa with a degree in theater and education; she married Thomas |
| 10 | | Klise in Peoria on August 24, 1957; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Marjorie Klise taught at Von Steuben School before |
| 12 | | devoting herself to raising her family; she later served as |
| 13 | | President of the Thomas S. Klise Company; she was involved in |
| 14 | | countless neighborhood, civic, cultural, and social justice |
| 15 | | efforts; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Marjorie Klise felt passionately about historic |
| 17 | | preservation, neighborhood gatherings, liberation theology, |
| 18 | | progressive politics, and the annual Moss-Bradley sale; she |
| 19 | | never tired of traveling and trying new things; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Marjorie Klise was preceded in death by her |
| 21 | | parents; her husband, Thomas; her two sisters, Joan Costello |
