HOUSE RESOLUTION


  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of  Jeffery 
4Scott Turner, who passed away on April 24, 2016 at the age of 
554; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Turner began his joy of knowledge at an 
7early age; he was a graduate of Hales Franciscan High, where  he 
8was in Who's Who; after graduating summa cum laude from 
9Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 1985, he served as 
10an educator for more than 20 years, blessing many Chicago area 
11elementary schools such as Alain Locke Charter and Oliver 
12Wendell Holmes Elementary School and Maria Catalyst Charter 
13School; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Turner's love of mentoring and educating 
15children drove him to become a coach;  he served as coach of the 
16girls basketball team, who recently won their division; he also 
17served as a little league coach for many years and ultimately 
18became certified as a referee; and

  
 
19    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Turner was the husband of Jackie Turner; 
20the father of Jerrell S. Turner; the grandfather of Jamari, 
21Jensis, Jerrod, and Jaiden Turner; and the sister of Yolie 
22Turner; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of 
4Jeffery Scott Turner; and be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Jeffery Turner as an expression of 
7our sympathy.
