HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize  Reverend Dr. Jimmy Hopper for 
4his service to the First Presbyterian Church in Danville; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Rev. Hopper's church is known throughout the 
6community as "The Church with a heart in the heart of the 
7city"; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Rev. Hopper has been pastor at First Presbyterian 
9Church for over 13 years, and in a broader sense, to the whole 
10Danville community; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Rev. Hopper embodies his church's deep commitment 
12to the well-being and spiritual growth of those he is called to 
13serve; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Rev. Hopper has opened the doors of his church to 
15various local groups and organizations with whom he  works to 
16improve the lives of those in the community  and share the word 
17of the Gospel; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Rev. Hopper finds serving as pastor presents 
19extraordinary opportunities for personal and  spiritual growth 
20through his interactions with those he is privileged to serve;

2    WHEREAS, Rev. Hopper has garnered both regional and 
3national recognition for his service to his community; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, Rev. Hopper's weekly messages of hope and faith 
5have an immense impact on those seeking guidance and comfort; 
6and
 
7    WHEREAS, Rev. Hopper's extensive pastoral services bring 
8both hope and assurance to those seeking support; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Rev. Hopper's commitment to his adopted hometown 
10serves as an inspiration to others; therefore, be it
  
 
  
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
12NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
13recognize the dedicated service of Reverend Dr. Jimmy Hopper of 
14the First Presbyterian Church in Danville and we wish him many 
15more successful years; and be it further
  
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17presented to Rev. Hopper as an expression of our esteem and 
18respect.
