HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to honor Robert Kapusta on the occasion of 
4his retirement from the Dolton Fire Department after 40 years 
5of dedicated service as  a professional firefighter; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Robert Kapusta was born in Chicago on May 27, 
71951; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Robert Kapusta faithfully served his country as a 
9member of the United States Army Reserve,
Company A, 863rd 
10Engineers; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Robert Kapusta became a resident of the Village of 
12Dolton and joined
the Dolton Fire Department as a volunteer 
13firefighter on March 21, 1974; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Robert Kapusta went through a rigorous testing 
15process and was hired as a
professional firefighter for the 
16Village of Dolton; he assumed the position of Fire
Engineer on 
17October 27, 1975; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Robert Kapusta was appointed to the position of 
19Deputy Fire Chief of the Dolton
Fire Department, the first 
20person to hold that rank, in May of 1986; and

1    WHEREAS, Robert Kapusta was promoted to Chief of the Dolton 
2Fire Department on May 1,
1992; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, Robert Kapusta was instrumental in bringing about 
4professional change to
transform the Third District Fire 
5Association into the present day MABAS 24 and
serving as the 
6Chairman of the Mutual Aid Committee; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Robert Kapusta returned to shift and re-assumed 
8the position of Engineer with
the Dolton Fire Department on 
9April 30, 1997; and
 
10    WHEREAS Robert Kapusta is a member of the Dolton 
11Professional Firefighters Association,
Illinois Association of 
12Firefighters Local 3766; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Robert Kapusta is retiring from the Dolton Fire 
14Department on May 31, 2016; therefore, be it
  
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
16NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
17honor Robert Kapusta for responding to a multitude of 
18emergencies,
participating in saving lives, and protecting the 
19lives and properties of the citizens of the Village
of Dolton;
