HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize Rockdale Elementary School 
4District 84 on the occasion of its 125th anniversary; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Rockdale Public School was founded in 1890 as a 
6one-room school located on Mound Road, known as School District 
79; in 1910, the new Rockdale School was built at its present 
8location on Meadow Avenue; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, The mascot of Rockdale Public School is the Rams - 
10Raising Achievement Mastering Success; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Rockdale Elementary School District 84 serves 289 
12students and over 40 teachers, aides, and other staff; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, The primary mission of Rockdale Public School is 
14to stimulate the
intellectual growth of its students, 
15accelerate appropriate peer interaction,
and create and 
16maintain an educational environment conducive to learning

17while involving parents and maximizing their positive 
18influence on the
climate for learning and its outcome; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Rockdale Elementary School District 84  will hold a 
20celebration of the 125th anniversary on May 21, 2016;

1therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
3NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
4recognize Rockdale Elementary School District 84 on its 125th 
5anniversary and we wish them many more wonderful years; and be 
6it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to Rockdale Elementary School District 84 as a symbol 
9of our respect and esteem.
