HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Richard Morgan on the 
4occasion of his retirement as Superintendent of Carrier 
5Mills-Stonefort High School; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Richard Morgan graduated form Harrisburg High 
7School in 1979; he earned his Associate in Science in 1981 from 
8Southeastern Illinois College and his Bachelor of Science  from 
9Southern Illinois University (SIU) in 1983; he received his 
10State Teacher Certification in 1983; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Richard Morgan joined Carrier Mills-Stonefort #2 
12for the 1983-1984 school year; he received his Master of 
13Science in Education from SIU in 1992 and joined General 
14Administration at SIU in 1999; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Richard Morgan became the Assistant Principal at 
16Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School in 1998 and the Principal 
17in 2000; he joined SIU in Superintendent Administration in 
182002; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Richard Morgan returned to Carrier 
20Mills-Stonefort High School as Superintendent in August of 
212002; and

1    WHEREAS, Richard Morgan has been a member of the 
2Southeastern Illinois College board for seven years; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Richard Morgan and his wife, Geri (Nolen) Morgan, 
4have been married for 31 years and have three children, Eli, 
5Luke, and Gabe; he is the son of Barbara Morgan and Alan 
6Morgan; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, A community party will be held in Richard Morgan's 
8honor at Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School on May 21, 2016; 
9therefore, be it
  
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
11NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
12congratulate Richard Morgan on his retirement as 
13Superintendent of Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School and we 
14wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it 
15further
  
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17presented to Richard Morgan as an expression of our esteem and 
18respect.
