HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize Laurie Jakubczak on her 10 
4years as Athletic Director at her alma mater, Mother McAuley 
5Liberal Arts High School in Chicago; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS,  Laurie Jakubczak started her coaching career at 
7Seton Academy in 1984, becoming the athletic director in 1990; 
8she led the Sting girls basketball team to its first State 
9quarterfinals appearance in 1998; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS,  The athletic director position opened at Mother 
11McAuley in 2006 and it was a natural fit for Laurie Jakubczak 
12who is so passionate about the school; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Laurie Jakubczak was recently selected as the 
14Division I Athletic Director of the Year; in celebration, she 
15took a spin on a golf cart through the halls of Mother McAuley 
16with several Mighty Macs athletes and family members trailing 
17behind her; and
  
 
  
18    WHEREAS,  Laurie Jakubczak loves what she does and enjoys 
19coming to school every day; she considers the school and those 
20who are a part of it her family; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3recognize Laurie Jakubczak on her 10 years as Athletic Director 
4at Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School and we wish her many 
5more wonderful years; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to Laurie Jakubczak as an expression of our esteem 
8and respect.
