| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to
congratulate Adria East Mossing | ||||||
| 4 | on the occasion of her installation as the 100th President of | ||||||
| 5 | the Women's Bar Association of Illinois (WBAI); and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Adria Mossing is a graduate of Northwestern | ||||||
| 7 | University, where
she earned her Bachelor of Arts in English in | ||||||
| 8 | 1983; she subsequently earned her Juris Doctor in 1988 from the | ||||||
| 9 | DePaul University College of Law, where she served as a | ||||||
| 10 | Managing Editor for the DePaul Law Review; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Adria Mossing began her career at Hinshaw & | ||||||
| 12 | Culbertson, quickly becoming one of only
seven women equity | ||||||
| 13 | partners in a national firm of over 400 lawyers; due to her | ||||||
| 14 | great trial skills, she was recruited to join a plaintiff | ||||||
| 15 | personal injury law firm, where she practiced for 5 years; and | ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Adria Mossing opened her own law firm in 2009; Jim | ||||||
| 17 | Navarre joined the firm as a partner in 2011 and the law firm | ||||||
| 18 | of Mossing & Navarre, LLC was formed; she represents the rights | ||||||
| 19 | of injured parties in cases involving medical malpractice, | ||||||
| 20 | birth injuries, construction accidents, motor vehicle and | ||||||
| 21 | trucking accidents, and other catastrophic personal injuries; | ||||||
| 22 | and | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | WHEREAS, Adria Mossing is a member of the Federal Trial Bar | ||||||
| 2 | and has been selected as a member of the American Board of | ||||||
| 3 | Trial Advocates; she is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell; she has | ||||||
| 4 | been named a Leading Lawyer in Illinois in the areas of | ||||||
| 5 | plaintiff personal injury and medical malpractice; she has also | ||||||
| 6 | been named as one of the Top Fifty Women Lawyers in Illinois | ||||||
| 7 | and one of the Top 100 Lawyers in Illinois by Super Lawyers; | ||||||
| 8 | and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Adria Mossing lives in the western suburbs with | ||||||
| 10 | her husband, Matt, and their three
children, Michael, Jack, and | ||||||
| 11 | Catherine; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Adria Mossing will be sworn in as the Women's Bar | ||||||
| 13 | Association of
Illinois President at its Annual Installation | ||||||
| 14 | Dinner on June 8, 2016; her theme for the year is "We are
the | ||||||
| 15 | WBAI" and her presidency will center on career development for | ||||||
| 16 | women attorneys, featuring a series of seminars focusing on | ||||||
| 17 | business development, negotiation skills, and building a law | ||||||
| 18 | firm; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 20 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 21 | congratulate Adria East Mossing on the occasion of her | ||||||
| 22 | installation as President of the Women's Bar Association of | ||||||

| 1 | Illinois and wish her continued success and happiness in the | ||||||
| 2 | future; and be it further
| ||||||
| 3 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
