HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Thennes family on the
4occasion of the 60th anniversary of Ed's Rental doing business
5in McHenry County; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Ed Thennes opened the first Ed's Rental store in
7the City of McHenry in 1956 and began renting a variety of
8equipment to residents of the area; and
 
9    WHEREAS, In 1974, Tom Thennes joined Ed in running the
10business; he currently manages the McHenry location; and
 
11    WHEREAS, In 1976, Richard Thennes joined and, two years
12later in 1978, he expanded by opening a second Ed's Rental
13location in nearby Crystal Lake; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Upon his graduation from the University of
15Wisconsin at Madison in 1993, Tom's son, Don, came to work for
16the family business; he now manages the Crystal Lake location;
17and
 
18    WHEREAS, In 2006, a third location in Algonquin was opened
19and is currently managed by Tom's other son, Peter, who came to
20work for Ed's Rental in 2000; and

1    WHEREAS, Ed's Rental is a proud member of the local Chamber
2of Commerce; and
 
3    WHEREAS, The three Ed's Rental stores continue to provide
4excellent service to the people of McHenry County and
5neighboring areas as a premier location for the renting of
6moving equipment, lawn and garden equipment, construction
7equipment, and party and entertainment equipment; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Ed's Rental has supplied valuable jobs to the
9people of McHenry County for the last 60 years; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Ed's Rental is known for exemplary customer
11service and a vast inventory of rentable items; therefore, be
12it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
14NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
15congratulate the Thennes family on the 60th anniversary of Ed's
16Rental and its commitment to McHenry County and the people they
17serve; and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to Don Thennes as an expression of our esteem and
20respect.
