| 2 | | WHEREAS, The work of Illinois government requires constant |
| 3 | | efforts from many unrecognized individuals who keep the |
| 4 | | proverbial wheels of state turning; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, The work of one such individual, Cheryl Waak, who, |
| 6 | | for 21 years has served the House of Representatives with |
| 7 | | intelligence and grace, certainly deserves our praise today, |
| 8 | | the final day of her duty to the House; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Cheryl Waak began her political activism in 1992 |
| 10 | | and began working for Illinois State Representative Dave |
| 11 | | Winters in 1995; she worked with Representative Winters until |
| 12 | | he resigned his position in August of 2012, at which time she |
| 13 | | began working for newly-appointed State Representative John M. |
| 14 | | Cabello; former Representative Winters has said that she was |
| 15 | | exceptional at working with various agencies and has a sterling |
| 16 | | reputation for getting things done for each Representative's |
| 17 | | constituency; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Prior to working as a Legislative Assistant, |
| 19 | | Cheryl Waak worked for 10 years as a teacher's aide in a |
| 20 | | computer class, where she taught countless children and was |
| 21 | | considered a surrogate mother to many of her students; she was |
| 22 | | also a Parent Teacher Organization President for many years; |
