HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to
congratulate the members of the 
4Southeast High School girls 4x100-meter relay team, the 
5Spartans,
on winning the Class 2A Girls Track and Field State 
6Championship; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The members of the 2016 championship-winning 
8relay team are
Jamari Drake, Dontavia Howard, Katelynn 
9Robinson, and Alexis Henry; their
winning time was 48.15 
10seconds; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, In addition to a State championship in the 
124x100-meter relay, the
Spartans took home a third-place team 
13trophy at the State
track and field meet on May 21, 2016 in 
14Charleston; and
 
15    WHEREAS, The Spartans, clad in their blue, white, and gold 
16school colors, scored a total of 40 points, buoyed by their 
17second-place finish in the 4x400
relay; and
 
18    WHEREAS, The Spartans are coached by Barb
Montgomery; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Southeast High School is well known for its 
20athletics; and

1    WHEREAS, The Spartans serve as models of hard work and 
2dedication for the
people of the State of Illinois; therefore, 
3be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6congratulate the members of the Southeast High School girls 
74x100-meter relay team, the Spartans, on their outstanding

8performance at the State championship and we wish them 
9continued success and
happiness in the future; and be it

11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to the Spartans as a symbol of our esteem and 
13respect.
