| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Sigi |
| 4 | | Psimenos, who passed away at the age of 65; and

| 5 | | WHEREAS, Sigi Psimenos was born in Germany; she spent most |
| 6 | | of her life in Chicago and moved to Elgin about 15 years ago; |
| 7 | | and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Sigi Psimenos was involved in many community |
| 9 | | initiatives; she served as president of the League of Women |
| 10 | | Voters of the Elgin Area; she was a co-founder of Next Wave Art |
| 11 | | Salon, Art and Soul on the Fox, and Stop Global Warming (now |
| 12 | | the Elgin Climate Change Organization); she was active with |
| 13 | | many groups, including the Elgin Green Expo, the Community |
| 14 | | Gardening Network, the Elgin Community Network, and One Billion |
| 15 | | Rising; she worked on many summer reading and public art |
| 16 | | projects with the Gail Borden Public Library; she was also part |
| 17 | | of a working group for Elgin's sustainable city master plan and |
| 18 | | volunteered for the 2010 United States Census; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Sigi Psimenos was well known for her impeccable |
| 20 | | interior design and painting skills and decorated her home with |
| 21 | | hand-painted ceilings and floors; she was also a co-host of the |
| 22 | | radio show "Two Old Broads" with her friend Maria D'Angelo; and
