HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Lola Mae
4Nichols of West Frankfort, who passed away on May 11, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lola Nichols was born in West Frankfort to Henry
6and Mary (Harris) Wilson on June 15, 1933; she married Roy
7Jordan on September 12, 1949; she later married Dudley Nichols
8on January 25, 2000; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Lola Nichols was an excellent cook and famous for
10her chicken and dumplings and homemade pies; she and her
11daughter, Judy, ran Lola's Uptown Restaurant for nearly 20
12years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Lola Nichols took pride in spending time with her
14family and she loved babysitting her great-great
15granddaughter, Olivia; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Lola Nichols was preceded in death by her second
17husband, Dudley; her parents; her two brothers, Cecil and John
18Wilson; and her sister, Ruby Stone; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Lola Nichols is survived by her three sons, Earl
20(Kay) Jordan, Tom (Sherry) Jordan, and Randy Jordan; her

1daughter, Judy (Jerry) Stringham; her nine grandchildren,
2Shane and Ryan Sieveking, Nicole Williams, Josh and Jeremy
3Jordan, Heath and Troy Jordan, and Derick and Dakota Jordan;
4her 13 great-grandchildren, Megan, Anthony, Alyssa, and
5Lindsey Williams, Reese and Quinn Jordan, Bridgett and Riley
6Jordan, Payton, Parker, Addison, and Sydney Sieveking, and
7Kelcey Jones; and her great-great granddaughter, Olivia Grace
8Conaway; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
10NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
11mourn the passing of Lola Mae Nichols, and extend our sincere
12condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
13her; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Lola Nichols as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
