HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Lola Mae Nichols of West Frankfort, who passed away on May 11, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Lola Nichols was born in West Frankfort to Henry and Mary (Harris) Wilson on June 15, 1933; she married Roy Jordan on September 12, 1949; she later married Dudley Nichols on January 25, 2000; and

WHEREAS, Lola Nichols was an excellent cook and famous for her chicken and dumplings and homemade pies; she and her daughter, Judy, ran Lola's Uptown Restaurant for nearly 20 years; and

WHEREAS, Lola Nichols took pride in spending time with her family and she loved babysitting her great-great granddaughter, Olivia; and

WHEREAS, Lola Nichols was preceded in death by her second husband, Dudley; her parents; her two brothers, Cecil and John Wilson; and her sister, Ruby Stone; and

WHEREAS, Lola Nichols is survived by her three sons, Earl (Kay) Jordan, Tom (Sherry) Jordan, and Randy Jordan; her daughter, Judy (Jerry) Stringham; her nine grandchildren, Shane and Ryan Sieveking, Nicole Williams, Josh and Jeremy Jordan, Heath and Troy Jordan, and Derick and Dakota Jordan; her 13 great-grandchildren, Megan, Anthony, Alyssa, and Lindsey Williams, Reese and Quinn Jordan, Bridgett and Riley Jordan, Payton, Parker, Addison, and Sydney Sieveking, and Kelcey Jones; and her great-great granddaughter, Olivia Grace Conaway; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Lola Mae Nichols, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lola Nichols as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
