HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the
4Salt Fork High School Class 1A Girls Track and Field Team, the
5Storm, on the occasion of winning the IHSA Class 1A State
6Championship; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Last year, the Storm came up five points short of
8winning the State championship; this year, the Storm was able
9to raise the State title trophy for the first time in school
10history; and
 
11    WHEREAS, The Storm has enjoyed many accomplishments this
12year, including wins at the Vermilion County Meet and the
13Vermilion Valley Conference Meet; and
 
14    WHEREAS, The members of the Storm scored well at the State
15meet; Abby Nicholson placed fourth in Shot Put and sixth in
16Discus; Katie Witte placed fifth in Discus; Jenny Kimbro placed
17first in the 100-Meter High Hurdles and set a new meet school
18record, breaking her old record that was set last year; Ms.
19Kimbro also placed first in the 300-Meter Low Hurdles, breaking
20her own record that was set last year, and placed first in the
21Long Jump and third in the 200-Meter Dash; and

1    WHEREAS, The Storm's coaches include Herb Wilkins,
2assistant coach and throws coach, Andrea Palmer, assistant
3coach, Phil Suprenant, head boys coach and assistant coach for
4the girls, and Gail Biggerstaff, head coach, led an outstanding
5team to victory; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
7NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
8congratulate the Salt Fork High School Class 1A Girls Track and
9Field Team, the Storm, on their outstanding performance, honor
10them for their hard work and determination, and wish them many
11more years of continued success on and off the track; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution is
14presented to the Storm as a symbol of our admiration and
15respect for all they have accomplished.
