| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate James M. Grady III on the | ||||||
| 4 | occasion of his retirement as Chief of the Frankfort Fire | ||||||
| 5 | District after 40 years of service; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Chief Jim Grady III earned his Bachelor of Arts | ||||||
| 7 | and his master's degree in Public Administration from Governors | ||||||
| 8 | State University; he also attended Joliet Junior College, | ||||||
| 9 | Moraine Valley Community College, and Lewis University; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Chief Jim Grady III began his career with the | ||||||
| 11 | Frankfort Fire District as a Volunteer Firefighter on May 25, | ||||||
| 12 | 1976; he has held the ranks of Lieutenant, Assistant Chief, | ||||||
| 13 | Deputy Chief, and Volunteer Fire Chief; he was appointed to the | ||||||
| 14 | position of full-time Fire Chief on February 26, 1990; he was | ||||||
| 15 | also an EMT and a paramedic for the District; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Chief Jim Grady III was involved with the | ||||||
| 17 | Frankfort Volunteer Firefighters Association and held several | ||||||
| 18 | offices, including President; he is a past President of the | ||||||
| 19 | Illinois Fire Chiefs Association; he is a member of the IFCA | ||||||
| 20 | Education Research Foundation and the Illinois Firefighter | ||||||
| 21 | Medal of Honor Committee and Foundation; he is a committee | ||||||
| 22 | member for the Illinois Fire Service Institute Library | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | Committee and a field staff instructor for the institute; he is | ||||||
| 2 | on the staff of several community colleges and local | ||||||
| 3 | universities; he is a member of the International Association | ||||||
| 4 | of Fire Chiefs Volunteer Combination Officers Section Beyond | ||||||
| 5 | Hoses-Helmets Leadership Team and Transition Courses; he was a | ||||||
| 6 | member of the IAFC Constitution/By-Laws Committee; he has also | ||||||
| 7 | been a featured speaker at Fire-Rescue International, | ||||||
| 8 | IAFC-VCOS, FDIC, and numerous Illinois Fire Service | ||||||
| 9 | Associations; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Chief Jim Grady III has numerous State of Illinois | ||||||
| 11 | Certifications and has been recognized as a Chief Fire Officer | ||||||
| 12 | Designee by the Center for Public Excellence; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Chief Jim Grady III and his wife, Bobbi Grady, | ||||||
| 14 | have three children and four grandchildren; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 15 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 16 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 17 | congratulate James M. Grady III on the occasion of his | ||||||
| 18 | retirement and wish him continued success and happiness in the | ||||||
| 19 | future; and be it further
| ||||||
| 20 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 21 | presented to Chief Jim Grady III as a symbol of our esteem and | ||||||
| 22 | respect.
