HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to honor Barbara Kramer for her dedication
4to teaching music to her students and for providing
5accompaniment to worship services; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Barbara Kramer was born on July 2, 1936 in
7Hannibal, Missouri, and grew up in Barry; she is a proud mother
8of two children, Rachel and Claire; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Barbara Kramer first studied piano in Quincy; she
10attended Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Missouri, where she
11completed her bachelor's degree in piano performance; she later
12earned her Master of Music in Piano Performance and received
13her music education degree; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Barbara Kramer has dedicated her life to sharing
15her passion for music with others; she has collaborated with
16many musicians and given hundreds of performances; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Barbara Kramer is passionate about sharing her
18musical talents with her faith community and has dedicated 40
19years of her talent serving as Music Director at the First
20Congregational Church of Bunker Hill; and

1    WHEREAS, Barbara Kramer serves as a member of the faculty
2of Lewis & Clark Community College; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Barbara Kramer is a member of the American College
4of Musicians, the Music Teachers National Association, Mu Phi
5Epsilon, Linden Scroll, and Pi Kappa Lambda; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Barbara Kramer is a recipient of the Young Artist
7Award; and
 
8    WHEREAS, The First Congregational Church of Bunker Hill
9will honor Barbara Kramer for her work on July 10, 2016;
10therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
12NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
13honor Barbara Kramer for her dedication teaching music to her
14students and for providing accompaniment to worship services at
15the First Congregational Church of Bunker Hill; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to Barbara Kramer as a symbol of our appreciation.
