HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Adell Tabb, who passed away on July 8, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Adell Tabb was born on September 6, 1938 in Money, Mississippi; his parents were Walter Tabb, Jr. and Mollie Ann Tabb; and

WHEREAS, Adell Tabb was educated in Money, Mississippi and migrated to Chicago at the age of 16; he was an industrious young man and held various positions of employment until his retirement at the age of 55; and

WHEREAS, Adell Tabb was a lover of people and children and imparted much into their lives; and

WHEREAS, Adell Tabb was a faithful member of St. Luke Church of God in Christ founded by Elder Luke Austin and pastored by Bishop James C. Austin, Sr.; after a visitation by Bishop James Austin in 1999, while he was in a coma, he accepted Christ; he joined St. Luke Church, got baptized the following Sunday, and was faithful until his health failed; and

WHEREAS, Adell Tabb is survived by his mother, Mollie Ann; his loving and devoted wife, Leontyne; his children, Ann Harris, Tina Tabb, and Alton, Albert, and Anthony Reese; his sisters, Willie Ruth Johnson, Hattie, Yvonnia, Willie Pearl Grigsby, and Dora Tabb; his brothers, Walter (Annie) Tabb, Jr. and Robert Tabb; his aunts, Lou Emma, Martha Baker, Priscilla McNair, and Naomi (Robert) Churchhill; his uncles, Nehemiah (Leotha), Aaron (Ericka), and Benjamin Wright; and his godchildren, Edwinda Mannings and Gabriel Millines; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Adell Tabb; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Adell Tabb as an expression of our sympathy.
