HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jeffrey A. Lovett, who passed away on July 10, 2016, surrounded by his family; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Lovett was born in Temple, Texas to Donald Lovett and Carol Pulver on March 18, 1958; he attended Dixon High School, where he met his future wife, Lisa; the two were high school sweethearts and married in 1974 and had two amazing daughters, Heather and Sarah, who blessed him with four grandchildren, Haley, Lillian, Katherine, and Marianna; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Lovett graduated from Dixon High School in 1976 and continued his studies at Sauk Valley College, where he earned an Associate's Degree; he continued his education at Northern Illinois University graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Finance; and

WHEREAS, After the completion of his formal educational studies, Jeffrey Lovett entered the workplace as a loan officer for the State Bank of Paw Paw; in 1985, he began a new job at Dixon National Bank as an Assistant Vice-President in the loan department; and

WHEREAS, In 1992, Dixon National Bank was sold to AMCORE, and Jeffrey Lovett was made Senior Vice-President/Chief Lending Officer, a position he held until 1999 when he was made the President/Chief Operation Officer; and

WHEREAS, In 2010, Midland States Bank purchased the AMCORE banks that Jeffrey Lovett managed and named him one of three Regional Market Presidents, having oversight of the branches in Dixon, Freeport, Sterling, Rock Falls, Princeton, Peru, and Mendota; despite going through many name changes at various banks and companies, he was dedicated to his community; and

WHEREAS, While Jeffrey Lovett lived in Ashton, he served on the village board and was the President of the Ashton Lions Club; when he moved to Dixon, he continued his involvement with the Lions Club, serving as a past President; he also was involved with the Dixon YMCA and the Dixon Petunia Festival and was a board member of Sinnissippi Centers; he was involved with the Ronald Reagan Boyhood Home Preservation Foundation and served several terms as the President of the Belted Galloway Association; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Lovett was a lifelong student of history with a passion studying the Civil War and genealogy, a love and passion he shared with his two daughters, Heather and Sarah; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Lovett loved his family and cared deeply for his local community, frequently going out of his way to lend a hand to those in need; he will be dearly missed by his loving family, close friends, and his community; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jeffrey A. Lovett, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jeffrey Lovett as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
