HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Julia J. Halpin of
Kempton 
4on the occasion of her 100th birthday on August 16, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Julia Halpin was born to Croatian immigrants, 
6George and Cenka Hibler, on August 16, 1916, the third of ten 
7children; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Julia Halpin grew up on a farm near Reddick; she 
9married the late William W. Halpin
on February 12, 1938; on 
10March 1 of the same year, they moved into the house on the

11Weber family farm, her husband's grandfather's farm near 
12Kempton, where she still resides today; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Julia Halpin had five children, the late Judy 
14(George) Ruwe, Shirley (Dave)
Seyfried, Alice Halpin, Bill 
15(Marsha) Halpin, and George (Marge) Halpin; she has ten 
16grandchildren and
19 great-grandchildren; and
  
 
  
17    WHEREAS, Four of Julia Halpin's siblings are still living, 
18three of whom will be celebrating with
her; her sons, Bill and 
19George, still farm the family land where Julia resides, as well 
20as other land in
north Central Illinois; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3congratulate Julia J. Halpin on her 100th birthday, and we wish 
4her many
more wonderful years; and be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to Julia J. Halpin as an expression of our
esteem and 
7respect.
