HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish
to congratulate Jay R. Stevenson on the 
4occasion of his retirement as
President of the Illinois League 
5of Financial Institutions; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Prior to becoming President, Jay Stevenson held 
7the position of Assistant
Commissioner of the Illinois Office 
8of Banks and Real Estate, where he was
recognized for his 
9outstanding knowledge of federal and State banking
laws and 
10regulations; he was elected Chairman of the American 
11Association
of State Savings Supervisors and Chairman of the 
12State Financial
Regulators Round Table; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, While serving as President, Jay Stevenson 
14successfully guided the League through
the 2008 recession, the 
15enactment of the most expansive banking regulatory
provisions 
16known as the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer

17Protection Act, and the housing crisis; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Jay Stevenson willingly shared his knowledge and

19expertise of the banking industry with his banking colleagues, 
20bank
regulators, State and federal banking trade associations, 
21and members of
the Illinois General Assembly; he has 
22represented the interests of all
financial institutions in an

1exemplary manner; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, Jay Stevenson plans to enjoy his retirement with 
3his
loving wife, Shirley, their two children, and their 
4grandchild; therefore, be it
  
 
  
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
6NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
7congratulate Jay R. Stevenson on his retirement, and we wish 
8him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it 
9further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to Jay Stevenson as an expression of our esteem and 
12respect.
