HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Deborah Ann Simental on 
4the occasion of her retirement from the Illinois State Police 
5on September 30, 2016; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Deborah Simental graduated from Cadet Class 88 in 
71990 and was assigned to District 3/Chicago; she was then 
8assigned to the Operational Services Command, Statewide 
9Criminal Conspiracy Unit,  Zone 1 Investigations, and the 
10Division of Internal Investigation; she was appointed as a 
11Special Agent in 1996; she was promoted to the rank of Sergeant 
12in 1998, Master Sergeant in 2000, and Lieutenant in 2007; she 
13was appointed as the Commander of the Division of Internal 
14Investigation in 2010; she was then promoted to Captain in 2011 
15before being appointed as Zone 1 Commander in 2013;  she was 
16appointed to serve as Colonel of the Division of Internal 
17Investigation in 2014; and
  
 
  
18    WHEREAS, Deborah Simental was a member of the Illinois 
19Association of Chiefs of Police, the
International Association 
20of Chiefs of Police, the National Association of
Women in Law 
21Enforcement, the Illinois Homicide Investigations Association,

22and the South Suburban Chiefs of Police; she helped with events 
23for
the Illinois State Police Heritage Foundation and the

1Special Olympics; and
  
 
  
2    WHEREAS, Deborah Simental has one daughter, Sarah, and one 
3son, Matthew; she earned her Bachelor of Liberal Arts and 
4Science in 1988; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
6NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
7congratulate Deborah Ann Simental on her retirement from the 
8Illinois State Police and wish her the best in all her future 
9endeavors; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to Deborah Simental as an expression of our esteem 
12and respect.
