| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Lorene King on the |
| 4 | | occasion of her retirement as Assistant Director of Student |
| 5 | | Development and Outreach and Recruitment Coordinator with the |
| 6 | | University of Illinois Peoria College of Medicine Urban Health |
| 7 | | Program; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Lorene King moved |
| 9 | | to Peoria to attend Bradley University after being awarded an |
| 10 | | academic scholarship; at Bradley, she earned a Bachelor of |
| 11 | | Science in marketing and a Master of Science in Liberal |
| 12 | | Studies, and studied community counseling; she spent more than |
| 13 | | a decade in the private sector with Caterpillar, Inc. and in |
| 14 | | the public sector with the Illinois Department of Employment |
| 15 | | Security and Illinois Central Community College; she currently |
| 16 | | serves at Illinois Central Community College as an Adjunct |
| 17 | | Instructor for the Social Sciences Department; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Lorene King has been the Assistant Director of |
| 19 | | Student Development and most recently the Outreach and |
| 20 | | Recruitment Coordinator with the Peoria College of Medicine |
| 21 | | Urban Health Program for the past nine years; during this time, |
| 22 | | she provided enhanced support to students from |
| 23 | | underrepresented populations and dedicated substantial |
