HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Sallie M.
4Hale, who passed away on September 23, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Sallie Hale was born on November 20, 1932 in
6Starksville, Mississippi; her parents were Carrie Lee Mullins
7and Roland Hale; she met and married Willie Pearson, Sr. in
81952 in Starksville, Mississippi; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Sallie Hale and her husband moved to Chicago in
101955; she retired from Automatic Electric in Northlake after
11many years of service; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Sallie Hale was a member of Alpha Baptist Church
13in Maywood and served on the Mothers Board; she enjoyed sports,
14particularly her Chicago teams; she also enjoyed cooking,
15growing flowers, putting up Christmas decorations, and
16spending time with her family; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Sallie Hale was preceded in death by her parents;
18her son, Willie Jr.; and her sister, Annie Kate Williams; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Sallie Hale is survived by her husband of 64
20years, Willie Pearson, Sr.; her children, Kathye Kelley, Wanda

1(Gerald) Hill, Pamela (David) Albert, and Carmen Pearson; her
2daughter-in-law, Ora Pearson; her grandchildren, Tania
3Pearson, Charles Kelley, Jr. (Amy), Korey (Tiffany) Kelley, and
4Steven C. Mann; her sister, Queen E. Colbert; her brother,
5Billy Ray (Vanessa) Samuels; her great-grandchildren, Quentin,
6Serenity, Laila, Avery, and Malia; her godchildren, Barbara
7Lightford, Jerry Sorrell, Carla Johnson, and Carlton Reives;
8her best friend, Rosemary Walker; many nieces, nephews,
9cousins, and friends; and her great-granddog Coco; therefore,
10be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
12NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
13we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of
14Sallie M. Hale; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Sallie Hale as an expression of our
17sympathy.
