|
2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dr. Gregg Davis for |
4 | | receiving the "2016 Rural Physician of Excellence Award" from |
5 | | the Illinois Rural Health Association; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, One of the biggest healthcare challenges across |
7 | | our nation is the shortage of physicians who practice in rural |
8 | | areas; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, In 1978, Dr. Gregg Davis graduated from the |
10 | | University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria; he went |
11 | | on to complete his residency in 1981 at the Rockford Medical |
12 | | Education Foundation and completed his Master of Business |
13 | | Administration in 1981 from the University of Massachusetts |
14 | | Isenberg School of Management; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Gregg Davis has vast practice experience in |
16 | | adult medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics |
17 | | obstetrics, emergency medicine, and industrial medicine; and
|
18 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Gregg Davis serves patients at St. Margaret's |
19 | | Hospital in Spring Valley and at Perry Memorial Hospital in |
20 | | Princeton, where he started in 1981 and currently serves as CEO |
21 | | and President; he has treated generations of local families in |

1 | | private practice through both Princeton Family Physicians and |
2 | | Gregg E. Davis, M.D., LLD since 1981; and
|
3 | | WHEREAS, Family medicine is a "family affair" at the Davis |
4 | | household, with his wife Renee working alongside him as a nurse |
5 | | and the practice set up as an extension of their home; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, Since 2011, Dr. Gregg Davis has been an active |
7 | | member of the Bureau County Board of Public Health, which has |
8 | | expanded to serve residents of both Putnam and Marshall |
9 | | Counties; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Due to his excellent clinical and business |
11 | | management skills, Dr. Gregg Davis was asked in 2014 to serve |
12 | | as Chief Medical Officer for the Illinois Rural Community Care |
13 | | Organization, a newly-formed Accountable Care Organization |
14 | | comprised of 21 critical access hospitals; and |
15 | | WHEREAS, Under the leadership of Dr. Gregg Davis, the |
16 | | Illinois Rural Community Care Organization has established |
17 | | medical working groups comprised of physicians and nurse |
18 | | practitioners developing the best working protocols for |
19 | | diabetes, congestive heart failure, and chronic obstructive |
20 | | pulmonary disease for rural communities; he also developed a |
21 | | Medicare medical well visit template which is now in widespread |
22 | | use keeping seniors healthier; and

1 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Gregg Davis is responsible for the Illinois |
2 | | Rural Community Care Organization being the catalyst for a |
3 | | better rural healthcare system statewide; he and his wife are |
4 | | dedicated to serving their community, creating an invaluable |
5 | | asset to the residents of Bureau County; therefore, be it
|
6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
7 | | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
8 | | commend Dr. Gregg Davis for his selfless service and the impact |
9 | | he has made on improving rural health; and be it further
|
10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
11 | | presented to Dr. Gregg Davis as a symbol of our respect and |
12 | | esteem.
