HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Monroe Elementary School 
4in Hinsdale on being designated a 2016 National Blue Ribbon 
5School by the United States Department of Education; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The National
Blue Ribbon Schools Program 
7recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high 
8schools, where
students perform at very high levels or where 
9significant improvements are being made in student academic

10achievement; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, For 2016, Monroe Elementary School is one of only 
12279 public schools in the nation to receive this honor, and one 
13of only 16 public
elementary, middle, and high schools in 
14Illinois; it  is the sixth of nine schools in District 181 to 
15earn the
award; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, The principal of Monroe Elementary School is 
17Justin Horne; and
  
 
  
18    WHEREAS, Monroe Elementary School celebrated this honor as 
19part of its Walk to School celebration on October 5, 2016; 
20therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3congratulate Monroe Elementary School on being designated a 
42016 National Blue Ribbon School, and we wish them many more 
5years of success; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to Monroe Elementary School as an expression of our 
8esteem and respect.
