HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, On June 12, 2016, the deadliest mass shooting in 
3American history took place at the Pulse
nightclub in Orlando, 
4Florida; 49 people were killed and 53 people were injured in 
5this tragic attack; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The attack was perpetrated specifically on this 
7nightclub due to its affiliation with the LGBT
community; many 
8of those killed and injured were members of the LGBT community, 
9as well as members
of the Latino community; and
  
 
  
10    WHEREAS, The people of Illinois and people of good will 
11across America rose as one with shock and horror
against this 
12senseless act of violence; and
  
 
  
13    WHEREAS, The General Assembly and people of Illinois mourn 
14the senseless loss of wonderful individuals
filled with love, 
15beauty, and potential, and grieve with their families and 
16friends; therefore, be it
  
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
18NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
19mourn with the families of the victims of the Pulse nightclub 
20tragedy and stand in solidarity with their families and loved 
21ones; and be it further

2presented to the families of the victims and the
owners of the 
3Pulse nightclub.
