HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the West Prairie High 
4School volleyball team, the Cyclones, on winning the 2016 
5Illinois High School Association Class 1A State Championship; 
6and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The Cyclones won their first State title with a 
8victory over the Eastland Cougars on November 12, 2016 at 
9Redbird Arena in Normal; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, The Cyclones compiled a season record of 35 wins, 
11five loses, and one tie on their way to the championship; and
  
 
  
12    WHEREAS, The Cyclones are coached by Head Coach, Teri Paul, 
13and Assistant Coaches, Caleb Hall, and Drew Snyder; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, The Cyclones are Maggie Torrance, Hunter 
15Griffith, Cora Vyhnanek, Erica Clark, Karlee Herman, Julie 
16Shoemaker, Hannah Davison, Courtney Butterfield, Emily Kitch, 
17Peyton Bowman, Hannah Thompson, Pema Zellmann, Kendra Hopping, 
18Maddie Kieffer, Emily Richardson, Kyah Beck, and Julia 
19Huffmier; the student managers are Emily Huffmier and Emily 
20Bartlett; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3congratulate the West Prairie High School volleyball team, the 
4Cyclones, on winning the 2016 Illinois High School Association 
5Class 1A State Championship, and we wish them many more 
6successful seasons; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
8presented to the Cyclones as a symbol of our respect and 
9esteem.
