HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Marian Catholic High 
4School Women's Volleyball Team, the Spartans, on winning the 
52016 Illinois High School Association Class 3A State 
6Championship; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The Spartans captured the championship by beating 
8their East Suburban Catholic Conference rivals, the defending 
9State champion Marian Central Hurricanes, at Illinois State 
10University's Redbird Arena on November 12, 2016; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, The Spartans compiled a record of 32 wins and nine 
12losses on their way to the championship; and
  
 
  
13    WHEREAS, The Spartans are coached by Ryan Summers; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, The Spartans are Brittany Grooms, Rachel 
15Churilla, Jordan Piekarski, Nailah Jones, Jaya Hall, Temilade 
16Adekoya, Ashley Sledge, Brittany Barlage, Lauren Hatch, Rose 
17Ybarra, Kaleigh Lester, and Temitayo Thomas-Alira; therefore,

19    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
20NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we

1congratulate the Marian Catholic High School Women's 
2Volleyball Team, the Spartans, on winning the 2016 Illinois
