HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate La Grange Police Chief 
4Renee Strasser on the occasion of her retirement on January 1, 
52017; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Chief Strasser is a 27-year veteran of the La 
7Grange Police Department; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Chief Strasser joined the La Grange Police 
9Department in 1989 as a patrol officer; she was promoted to 
10Sergeant in 1999, to Lieutenant in 2009, and to Deputy Chief in 
112014; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Chief Strasser attended the FBI National Academy 
13in 2011 in Quantico, Virginia; she was awarded a First 
14Responders Grant in 2008 to attended Benedictine University, 
15where she earned a master's degree in management and 
16organizational development; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Chief Strasser grew up on Chicago's South Side; 
18she majored in criminology and psychology at Indiana State 
19University on an athletic scholarship for softball; therefore,

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3congratulate La Grange Police Chief Renee Strasser on her 
4retirement, and we wish her the best in all her future 
5endeavors; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to Chief Strasser as an expression of our esteem and 
8respect.
