AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 583




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 583 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
4    "Section 5. The Department of Natural Resources Act is 
5amended by changing Sections 20-5 and  20-15 as follows:
 



6    (20 ILCS 801/20-5)



7    Sec. 20-5. State Museum. The State shall operate an 
8Illinois State Museum in Springfield and at branch sites at 
9Dickson Mounds, Lockport, Rend Lake, and the James R. Thompson 
10Center. The Illinois State Museum and all branch sites shall be 
11open to the public. The Illinois State Museum shall operate a 
12research and collections center to research, preserve, and 
13maintain access to the extensive Illinois State Museum 
14collections. The Department of Natural Resources
shall have 
15within it the office of the Illinois State Museum. The
Board of 
16the Illinois State Museum is retained as the advisory governing

1board for the State Museum.

3    (20 ILCS 801/20-15)
4    Sec. 20-15. Entrance fee. 
5    The Department may set, by the Director, by administrative 
6rule an entrance fee for visitors to the Illinois State Museum. 
7A different fee may be charged for different classes of 
8visitors. The fee assessed by this Section shall be deposited 
9into the Illinois State Museum Fund for the Department to use 
10to support the Illinois State Museum. The monies deposited into 
11the Illinois State Museum Fund under this Section shall not be 
12subject to administrative charges or chargebacks unless 
13otherwise authorized by this Act.

15    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
16becoming law.".
