SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
210 ILCS 15/2 new

    Amends the Blood Donation Act. Provides that no person may donate blood without having first been examined by a physician and determined to be in sufficient health so as to ensure that no physical harm should result from donating blood. Authorizes the Department of Public Health to adopt rules to implement the requirement.

1    AN ACT concerning regulation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Blood Donation Act is amended by adding
5Section 2 as follows:
 
6    (210 ILCS 15/2 new)
7    Sec. 2. Blood donation; examination by physician.
8    (a) No person may donate blood without having first been
9examined by a physician and determined to be in sufficient
10health so as to ensure that no physical harm should result from
11donating blood.
12    (b) The Department of Public Health may adopt rules to
13implement this Section.
