1    AN ACT concerning education.
  
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
 
3represented in the General Assembly:
  
 
 
4    Section 5. The School Code is amended  by changing Section 
52-3.25e-5 as follows:
 
6    (105 ILCS 5/2-3.25e-5)
7    Sec. 2-3.25e-5. Two years on academic watch status; 
8full-year school plan.
9    (a)  In this Section, "school" means any of the the 
10following named public schools or their successor name:
11        (1) Dirksen Middle School in Dolton School District 
12    149.
13        (2) Diekman Elementary School in Dolton School 
14    District 149.
15        (3) Caroline Sibley Elementary School in Dolton School 
16    District 149.
17        (4) Berger-Vandenberg Elementary School in Dolton

6    (b)  If, after 2 years following its placement on academic 
7watch status, a school remains on academic watch status, then, 
8subject to federal appropriation money being available, the 
9State Board of Education shall allow the school board to opt 
10into the process of operating that school on a pilot, full-year 
11school plan, approved by the State Board of Education, upon 
12expiration of its teachers' current collective bargaining 
13agreement until the expiration of the next collective 
14bargaining agreement. A school board must notify the State 
15Board of Education of its intent to opt into the process of 
16operating a school on a pilot, full-year school plan.
