AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1340 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1340 on page 1, 
3line 5, after "2-3.160", by inserting "as added by Public Act 
498-695 and by renumbering and changing Section 2-3.160 as added 
5by Public Act 98-705"; and
 

6on page 5, immediately below line 2, by inserting the 
7following:


 
8    "(105 ILCS 5/2-3.161)
9    Sec. 2-3.161 2-3.160. Definition of dyslexia in rules; 
10reading instruction advisory group. 
11    (a)  The State Board of Education shall adopt rules that 
12incorporate an international definition of dyslexia into Part 
13226 of Title 23 of the Illinois Administrative Code.
14    (b)  Subject to specific State appropriation or the 
15availability of private donations, the State Board of Education 
16shall establish an advisory group to develop a training module

1or training modules to provide education and professional 
2development to teachers, school administrators, and other 
3education professionals regarding multi-sensory, systematic, 
4and sequential instruction in reading. This advisory group 
5shall complete its work before December 15 July 31, 2015 and is 
6abolished on December 15 July 31, 2015.
