| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Mercury Switch Removal Act is amended by |
| 5 | | changing Sections 20 and 55 as follows:
|

| 8 | | Sec. 20. Evaluation. At the end of calendar year 2007, and |
| 9 | | at the end of each year thereafter through calendar year 2016, |
| 10 | | the Agency shall meet with manufacturers subject to the |
| 11 | | collection program requirements of Section 15 of this Act to |
| 12 | | review the performance of the manufacturers' mercury switch |
| 13 | | collection program, provided that the manufacturers must |
| 14 | | request such a meeting. If the program is not accomplishing the |
| 15 | | objectives set forth in the implementation plan the Agency may |
| 16 | | recommend modifications to the program or recommend the |
| 17 | | investigation of additional methods to promote the removal, |
| 18 | | collection, and proper management of mercury switches from |
| 19 | | end-of-life vehicles.
