AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1803 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1803 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
4    "Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the 
5LaSalle County Transportation Study Act.
 
6    Section 5. LaSalle County Transportation Study.
 
7    (a)   The Department of Transportation shall conduct a 
8transportation study on the effects of agricultural, 
9manufacturing, mining, and other industrial operations in 
10LaSalle County and its bordering counties, and produce a report 
11on its findings. The report shall include the following:

12        (1)   impacts of road usage and traffic pattern 
13    disruptions by trucking companies;

14        (2)   potential road improvement plans to alleviate the 
15    additional highway traffic caused by increased 
16    agricultural, manufacturing, and mining operations; and

1        (3)   potential for adding new railway terminals and 
2    pipelines to alleviate the highway traffic caused by 
3    increased mining operations.

4    (b)   The Department may consult with any agency it deems 
5necessary to carry out the study.

6    (c)   The Department shall submit its report and 
7recommendations to the General Assembly on or before January 1, 
82016.
 
9    Section 10. Expiration. This Act is repealed on January 1, 
102017.
 

11    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
12becoming law.".
